I mean an exhaust is an exhaust is an exhaust, right? Especially with the EURO5 bikes you can’t expect anymore anything from after-market exhaust systems (if you want to stay legal)… because they are all slip-ons.

But the stock exhaust on the KTM 890 ADVENTURE R is sooooo ugly… I really don’t know why the designers at KISKA decided for such a clumpy big piece. I mean look at it! Writing about it right now I just noticed that there are a bunch of ugly parts on this awesome bike.

If you have read the first episode (the bike – first episode) you already know that I went with a rally tower to – of course – get rid of the ugly headlamp but more to get that the rally feeling and rally design like the KTM 450 Rally Replica.
Following this idea I wanted to have an exhaust also fitting into this kind of rally style plus I wanted still to be street legal.

Not going to lie the akrapovič exhaust is cool but I am sorry I am not going to pay roughly € 1100 for a slip-on exhaust. As cool as it looks on the Rally Replica but as stupid as it sounds but I come from a aftermarket exhaust generation where the high-end akra was € 600 and the “normal” ones were around the € 300 mark. So once I started looking into slip-ons following were on my list:

  1. MIVV Dakar Stainless steel
  2. MIVV Oval Titan

Both I though are okay but never really made me excited. Then I found “the one” – Exan oval Rally Slip on in titan (Link – if anybody is interested). I didn’t know Exan so I googled it, italian brand, made from titanium so … I finally bought it at black friday for just € 380, thinking worst case I’ll sell it again.

But now look at it!

Sorry that it’s a bit dirty… however I love the look of it! The slip-on was easy to install, fitted quite well and looks super nice! Never spent € 380 better on an exhaust… Best part? the sound… I did not want to believe it but it actually sounds deeper and fuller when ideling and low rpms. Higher rpms it sounds for me as a rider still the same not too loud just perfect!

That’s for it today! Keep tuned!
