So – big topic for me – I bought a DJI mini 3 pro (used) especially for the rally. The pro because it’s the model with the “follow me” function. My basic idea is to have the drone fly to places where I think it’s worth following me and recording.
What I find pretty cool from Bosnia Rally team is, the rider video 2025 with the most views wins a ticket for Bosnia Rally 2026. I didn’t know that before (I bought the drone) but this is the kind of motivation I need to also then finally cut everything into a cool movie. Unlike my 120 GB of GoPro videos…
The camera should tend to be of sufficient quality, you can’t go wrong with 4K in video and photography. So far I’ve only taken a few pictures while hiking, also just to get a feel for the drone. I’m not a great photographer or videographer, but the perspective alone makes a difference, but see for yourself.
However, the episode revolves around the installation of the RC from DJI. The actual plan was to control the drone with the installed tablet. That was the plan, it’s just a shame that the app isn’t designed for this – so I had to think about how to get the RC onto the bike somehow, I still had space.
As I had just had a good experience with PETG printing, I thought I would take a look at the relevant 3D print sites. I can’t be alone with this problem and lo and behold, I was – once again – not disappointed by the 3D printing community. “dagerber” on printables designed exactly the right stuff and parts for me – shoutout to “dagerber”.

So I fired up the 3D printer, serviced it and lo and behold

I also printed the Go-Pro adapter to go with it – and this is what the end result looks like:
I’m currently doing a bit of test driving. It works really well but it’s a “shaky ride”.
That’s it again!
