I’ve made my final decision and bought the tires. It will be the Mitas in the Dakar version!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShot\u201d via Ebay with an Ebay promotion voucher – the set together incl. shipping to DE for only \u20ac 228.19 – still more expensive than I was looking for the first time in January, but okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attentive reader will now wonder why shipping to DE? Paul lives near Salzburg, doesn’t he? Well, anyone who has ever lived in beautiful Austria, but also in Germany, will realize that many online stores offer free shipping to DE, but as soon as it goes over the border \u201cinternational shipping costs\u201d are incurred and then very quickly up to \u20ac 18 shipping is due. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A tip for all border residents, like myself. In Freilassing there is the Fundgrube, which provides you with a German shipping address and accepts your parcels for little money (including tires!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now it’s time to have the tires mounted, which I’ll have done by our local tire man in the next few days\u2026 he’s already been warned by me \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
